Abstract
"The research related to word identification by analogy and literature-based reading instruction was examined. Sample lessons were created to illustrate how word identification by analogy could be implemented using children's literature in the whole-part-whole cycle of reading instruction. Thirty-seven rimes were identified and used to create an annotated bibliography of children's literature based on the rimes repeated in each book or poem. Implications for classroom practice and recommendations for implementation were discussed."
